2019 Trip

In 2019, the students visited Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Niligiris and Chennai. The students worked on a Reverse Innovation Project that would provide children the facilities so they could wash their clothes while at school. This would help working mothers who are often over extended due to their dual domestic and workplace responsibilities. Sometimes, children have to miss school due to a lack of clean clothes. This project developed a model that addressed this problem and helped to alleviate some of the burden off of working women.

2018 Trip

In 2018, the students visited Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, and Leh. The students on this trip worked on a variety of exciting Reverse Innovation Projects. One group designed a business model to create affordable sunglasses from recycled plastic. People in India were having issues with eye damage as a result of exposure to the sun when working long hours outside. Another group worked on creating an upgrade kit to turn bicycles into motor ​assisted bikes. The last group designed an educational program to teach women about feminine hygiene products and care.

2017 Trip

In 2017, the students visited Delhi, Khajuraho, Agra, Chennai, and Mahabalipuram. Students on the 2017 trip focused on issues with water. This specific Innovation project was developed in 2015 and continued until the 2017 trip. It eventually became a Senior Project for the STEM & CREATE to the MBA Program. The students worked to implement a water filtration process that was tested in the microbiology labs on campus at the University of Alabama.

2016 Trip

The students decided to focus their Innovation Project on tackling the issue of sachets, single use plastic shampoo packets. These packets are more affordable for families than buying full shampoo bottles. However, sachets have caused issues with pollution. The students decided to focus on using refillable plastic bags as a substitute for sachets. Another group of student focused on issues faced with lighting in India. 2015 Trip

In 2015, the students visited Delhi, Khajuraho, Agra, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Mahabalipuram. Several students worked on an Innovation Project which focused on making organic fertilizer for local farmers to sell.
